# Minute Pricing

> Understand how credit-based billing, minute types, and bucket-based consumption work in the thinkrr Voice AI platform.

## Overview

Thinkrr Voice AI uses a **credit-based billing system** combined with clear **minute types** so you can control cost and quality. Instead of pre-purchasing a fixed number of minutes, users purchase **USD credit**, and the number of minutes available depends on:

* The **minute type** you purchase (Premium or Basic)
* Any **discounted minute buckets** you’ve added (e.g., bulk packages)

This document explains how minute pricing, minute types, buckets, and consumption order determine your effective call cost.

***

## Dynamic Credit-Based Billing

Under this model, users (agencies, subaccounts, and regular users) purchase **credit in dollars**. The number of minutes you receive from that credit is calculated based on the **minute type selected at the time of purchase**. That rate is locked for those purchased credits.

### Premium vs Basic Minutes

Premium and Basic minutes determine the level of voice quality, conversational depth, and contextual understanding used during calls. Both minute types support all scenarios and workflows, but they behave differently in terms of performance and are suited for different use cases.

#### Premium Minutes

Premium minutes use thinkrr's higher-quality voice model.

**Performance Characteristics**

* More natural, expressive, human-like tone
* Stronger handling of objections and follow-up questions
* Better at maintaining context across\*\*longer \*\* conversations
* Smoother pacing and more realistic timing
* Clear improvement in nuance, inflection, and emotional expression

**Best For**

* Customer-facing conversations
* Sales, demos, and appointment setting
* Complex branching flows or logic-heavy calls
* Situations where tone, clarity, and conversational realism matter
* Any interaction where first impressions impact results

**Cost**

* **\$0.16/min**
* Included by default on all paid plans

#### Basic Minutes

Basic minutes use a simplified, efficiency-optimized voice model.

**Performance Characteristics**

* Faster, more direct speaking style
* Less expressive but still clear and reliable
* Ideal for predictable or \*\*short \*\*conversations
* Reduced nuance handling compared to Premium
* Optimized for high-volume calling and cost efficiency

**Best For**

* Bulk outbound campaigns
* Short, simple, or repetitive calls
* Data collection and survey-style interactions
* Internal workflows or non-customer-facing tasks
* High-volume use cases where nuance isn’t critical

**Cost**

* **\$0.09/min**
* Available as an optional add-on

#### How to Choose

If the conversation involves objections, scheduling, multiple decision paths, or anything requiring personality or nuance, choose **Premium minutes**.

If the goal is efficiency, scale, or simple data capture, and the conversation flow is straightforward, choose **Basic minutes**.

Most users start with Premium minutes to experience the highest call quality, then add Basic minutes as they expand outbound volume or automate internal workflows.

### Standard Rates

* **\$0.16/minute** — **Premium minutes** (default, higher-quality model)
* **\$0.09/minute** — **Basic minutes** (reduced-cost, lower-quality model)

This approach allows you to maintain a **fixed credit balance**, while your **available minutes** reflect the pricing of the minute types you bought.

## Bulk Minute Packages

For high-volume usage, thinkrr offers **prepaid bulk minute packages** at discounted rates. These packages provide a cost-effective alternative to pay-as-you-go credit, especially for agencies or subaccounts handling large call volumes.

| **Package Size** | **Cost (USD)** | **Effective Rate** |
| ---------------- | -------------- | ------------------ |
| 5,000 minutes    | \$750          | **\$0.15/min**     |
| 10,000 minutes   | \$1,400        | **\$0.14/min**     |
| 15,000 minutes   | \$1,950        | **\$0.13/min**     |
| 20,000 minutes   | \$2,400        | **\$0.12/min**     |
| 50,000 minutes   | \$5,500        | **\$0.11/min**     |

> 💡 **Bulk minutes are always premium minutes.**\
> They maintain higher call quality while delivering predictable cost efficiency.

### How Bulk Packages Work

* **Prepaid Balance**: You purchase a block of minutes upfront, which are deposited into your account as a dedicated **discount bucket**.
* **Priority Use**: thinkrr always consumes your cheapest minutes first (see [Bucket Consumption Order](#bucket-consumption-order)).
* **No Expiration During Active Use**: Minutes remain valid as long as your account is active and in good standing.
* **Stackable Packages**: You can purchase multiple packages. They will be queued in order of **lowest per-minute cost**, ensuring maximum savings.

This option is ideal for **agencies managing multiple subaccounts** or **teams with heavy inbound/outbound traffic**, since it guarantees a predictable per-minute rate.

## Minute Buckets: Priority Logic

Thinkrr supports multiple "buckets" of minutes, each potentially priced at different rates. These may include:

* **Premium minutes** (standard credit at **\$0.16/min**)
* **Basic minutes** (discounted credit at **\$0.09/min**)
* **Additional discounted bulk packages** (see table above)

### Bucket Consumption Order

When you place a call, thinkrr will always:

1. Deduct minutes from the **lowest-cost bucket** first
2. Then use higher-cost buckets only after lower ones are depleted

This ensures your **cheapest minutes** are always consumed first.

### Display Behavior

When a user changes plans or purchases a different minute bucket, **previously purchased minutes** remain at their **original rate**. This can lead to multiple active buckets, for example:

* 100 minutes at **\$0.11** from a bulk package
* 300 minutes at **\$0.14** from a recent Premium credit purchase

Billing always deducts from the **lowest-cost** bucket first. If the UI ever shows a temporary mismatch in displayed rate during transitions, **usage and billing remain accurate**.

## Viewing Balances & Pricing

You can monitor:

* Your **credit balance in USD**
* Your **remaining minute equivalent**, based on your active buckets (e.g., \$0.11, \$0.13, \$0.14, \$0.15)
* **Bucket consumption status** and order of use

These metrics are available on the **Payments screen**, with an explanatory tooltip also visible on the **Home** screen.

## Agency Controls & Subaccount Pricing

Agencies can apply **markup margins** to subaccount minute usage.

Base rates available to agencies:

* **\$0.16/min** for **Premium minutes**
* **\$0.09/min** for **Basic minutes**

The agency’s **margin** is added on top of the selected base rate.\
Agencies can view rate details and applied margins within the **Account Manager** UI.
